Latin-American World

Machu Pichu

After experiencing the various degrees of fraternal organizations at San Diego State University, a group of dedicated men decided to gather other like-minded college students to address the reality and need of a different type of fraternity on our campus. As Latinos, we notice and value the comfort and support that can only come from strong family ties. Together, this group established the campus club “Raza Unida,” as the initial step to establishing a chapter of Gamma Zeta Alpha at SDSU.

The founding fathers not only noticed, but were concerned about the lack of community involvement and unity among the Latino population at SDSU and San Diego in general. Gamma Zeta Alpha, with its core principals of Academics, Brotherhood, Community Service and Maintenance of the Latino Culture, proved to be the best organization to help us develop, explore and execute our ideas and beliefs.

On May 31, 1997, they earned the privilege to establish and became the founding fathers of Gamma Zeta Alpha, Zeta Chapter, San Diego State University. Since then, our fraternity has established and maintained a level of professionalism and respect that is recognized throughout California. Whether we are encouraging each other towards graduation, or supporting each other afterwards, all brothers of the Zeta Chapter are proud of what we started; and we will continue to be proud, thanks to the classes that will forever maintain, develop, and surpass our goals and achievements.
