Most people hear the word fraternity and immediately imagine a whole bunch of drunk guys committing obscene acts, jumping out of windows into swimming pools, hazing new members, and occasionally running down campus naked. Although we cannot speak for anyone else, Gamma Zeta Alpha couldn't be further from the stereotypical misconceptions. Gamma Zeta Alpha believes that all brothers should be able to balance their life through our three principles. Even though we are not a social fraternity( our main goal is not to party all the time) we believe that a well balanced college life is essential for the growth of our brothers. We are, however, an academic fraternity proud of our achievements and ardently paving a road of success with no end.

We are looking for ambitious gentlemen interested in building life-long bonds with the tightest brotherhood around. Come and meet us during RUSH week and attend our scheduled informationals. Look for our letters, our shield, or our colors; black, white, and silver and ask as many questions as you want. We are incredibly approachable and don't think any question is a dumb question. If you are the shy type(many of us were), then you can send us a myspace message. We suggest that you do the same with other fraternities. Talk to some of their guys, go to their rush events and figure out who you feel more comfortable with. In the end, you should make a a well informed and educated decision without feeling pressured by anyone. Remember, no decision is ever final and you can always say no.

We DO NOT HAZE. Our process is based on mutual respect and ethical behaviors. BUT do expect for this to be one of the most challenging experiences of your lives.  Every single one of our prospective members is hand-picked and evaluated based on our high standards rubric. We will not just pass out “bids” by the bunches:Our fraternity believes in QUALITY over QUANTITY. Our process  builds character, instills brotherly responsibility, raises GPA’s, teaches time management, encourages philanthropy, elevates cultural awareness, and above all produces gentlemen of the highest caliber.

Cal State L.A. Hazing Policy

The term “hazing” means any method of initiation into a student organization or any pastime or amusement engaged in

with regard to such an organization which causes, or is likely to cause, bodily danger, physical or emotional harm to any

member of the campus community; but the term “hazing” does not include customary athletic events or other similar

contests or competitions. Students may be expelled, suspended or placed on disciplinary probation under the provisions

of Article 1.1, Title 5 California Code of Regulations, Section 41301[k]: “Abusive behavior directed toward, or hazing

of, a member of the campus community.” Hazing is also a violation of the California Penal Code. The maximum

penalty for hazing is a $5,000 fine and one-year in county jail.
